The company was founded in September 2001 by research scientists from Baylor College of Medicine to mitigate the risk of catastrophic sample damage. Baylor lost its entire 60,000 sample tumor collection and 25 years of research data in June 2001, when tropical storm ‘Allison’ devastated Houston and caused $600 Million worth of damage.
