GenVault’s GenSolve chemistry effectively recovers double-stranded, high quality DNA from paper substrates and more
The most important aspect of storing DNA at ambient temperature is the proven and dependable recovery of high-quality DNA in sufficient quantities for downstream analytical studies. To this end, GenVault has developed the GenSolve chemistry. GenSolve solubilizes DNA, proteins, and cellular debris in FTA paper, other filter papers, and porous media such as swabs, through its interactions with an industrial strength protease at an elevated temperature. The resulting mixture can be loaded directly onto a DNA purification column for clean-up.
While GenSolve is extremely effective on paper based substrates, its utility is not limited to paper. GenVault is exploring the possibility of expanding GenSolve’s functionality to include the ability to dissolve paraffin embedded tissue samples, as well as other hard to isolate DNA samples
